Good evening Europe and good morning Australia: my Eurovision week in Turin

Eurovision week finally arrived and it was time to make the short train journey from Milan to Turin. Because I had fully-refundable flexible train tickets I managed to swap my premium seats for non-refundable business class seats yet still get a €30 refund across my two remaining trips. It meant a quieter carriage and a seat to myself, with plenty of room to stretch out and no random in my personal space bubble.

That hour of alone time was handy because as soon as I pulled into Torino Porta Nuova Station the excitement truly kicked in and there was no time for rest. Arriving at 1pm but unable to check-in to my overpriced Airbnb until 3pm, I put my suitcase into a baggage locker and met up with Mike, Dale and Steve for lunch and a bit of a roam through the streets of beautiful Turin.

You’re a vision! My top 5 entries for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022

I’m counting down the sleeps until this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, but instead of wearily making a coffee at 5am, or adding a dash of orange juice to a bucket of champagne so I can pretend it’s a suitable breakfast beverage, I’m going to be there in the flesh.

Ever wanted to tell me where to go?

Going back through old posts on this travel blog, which has grown tired and unloved for myriad reasons, I realise that I’m doomed to repeat my old mistakes.

It turns out that despite all my organising and planning, I’m less than a week out from leaving for Europe and I haven’t got the slightest idea what I’m going to do outside of standing in the audience at my first Eurovision Song Contest.
